Here is a truly spectacular French Deco clock set made using a rare exotic marble. The quality clock runs for a week, and strikes the hour/half hour on a bell. It is a bit over 14 inches long. I have only seen this marble used for the bases of important Art Deco bronze figures by Chiparus and other major sculptors of the period. It must have been available only in small quantities, and has probably been used up. The highly-figured maroon marble is accented by fancy brass mounts and by inlays of black marble on the clock and garnitures. Please study the photographs for the best understanding. Questions are always welcome. The item “A Spectacular Exotic Marble French’Art Deco’ Clock Set, circa 1920″ is in sale since Sunday, January 22, 2017.
